Rakesh Roshan chooses Hrithik Roshan & Ranbir Kapoor for Karan Arjun
When asked which of the younger generation actors can essay Karan Arjun, Rakesh Roshan answered Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor. The filmmaker said, “Aaj kal bohot saare actors hai, koi bhi Ye role kar sakta hai. Today’s generation of actors is very professional and good at their work. If someone asks me who can be cast as Karan Arjun in today’s time, I would say Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor.” When asked about actresses, he says, “An actress didn’t have a prominent role in this film. But there are good actresses in this generation.”
When asked about the idea behind re-releasing his iconic film Karan Arjun, Rakesh said, “I wanted to re-release Karan Arjun because wholesome films are not made in today’s time. This film had songs, comedy, emotions, and action. It was not a typical masala entertainer but a complete package. I want to see how many people in today’s time like such a film so that we make more of it. Or if they reject it, thinking it is of the old generation, we as filmmakers will have to rethink.”
Rakesh Roshan on younger generations
Speaking about the younger generations, the filmmaker said, “You never know about the younger generation. Their thought process and emotional quotient are different. They are more into social media. Humne dekha hai humare daur mein, wo jo ek pyaar hai, ijjat hai, sharam hai unse bahut door hai aaj kal woh. (Today’s generation is devoid of the love, respect, and shame that once existed in our times.)”
